Moving Mountains

Here is a story about a mother's love. I think it is true of all mothers. You see there are always going to be times when a mother must fight for her child, advocate on their behalf, or rescue them from the clutches of this evil world.

Sometimes mothers must move mountains.

A long time ago there were two warring tribes in the Andes. One group lived in the valley and the other in the mountains. One day the tribe from the mountains descended on the lowlanders, they stole many things and kidnapped a baby. They took the infant back to their home high in the mountains. The tribe from the lowlands did not know how to climb these steep mountains. In vain a search party of the tribes bravest and strongest men set out to rescue the child. They attempted to climb one trail after another but every time they slowly slid back to where they had started. Finally on their last attempt they saw a mother from their tribe coming down the mountain towards them, on her back securely fastened was the infant. Puzzled they asked her, "How is it that we, the finest men of our tribe were unable to climb this steep and treacherous mountain yet you were able to do so?"
She shrugged her shoulders and said, "It wasn't your baby."
